Spatchcocking a Turkey: It's Okay to Ask for Help This Holiday Season

As we move into the season of gratitude, I find myself thinking about how lucky I am to do what I do, and I want to say a heartfelt thank you.
Thank you for the trust you place in me — for inviting me into your home, your kitchen, your closets, and your daily routines. I know how personal that is, and I don’t take it lightly.
Helping you bring calm and order to your home is an honor I never take for granted.
Every year in my own home, we gather for our traditional American Thanksgiving feast — complete with sourdough stuffing, mashed potatoes (with a bit of cauliflower snuck in), and plenty of laughter in the kitchen. My daughter makes the pies, and we spend the day cooking together and making memories.
Years ago, I learned from Martha Stewart how to spatchcock a turkey — cutting out the backbone and flattening it so it cooks faster and stays juicy. What I didn’t realize was how much upper-body strength that takes! I had to stand on a chair just to get enough leverage to flatten that bird. 😂 But it cooked so beautifully — faster, juicier, and evenly browned.
Now? I pick it up already done — flattened and ready to roast. It’s a small reminder that it’s okay to ask for help to make life easier.
And maybe that’s what I’m most grateful for this year — for the lessons in making life simpler, whether it’s in the kitchen, in our homes, or in our routines.
As we move into the busy holiday season, I hope you find small ways to simplify and enjoy what truly matters — the people around your table, the memories you make, and the peace that comes from an organized, joyful home.
Happy Thanksgiving, from my joyful nest to yours. 🧡
