A tip to help you finish the organizing projects you start

It’s that time of year — the time when everyone is craving organization! Do you know the feeling? After the holidays, when you want to get your whole house in order? All the decorations need to be put away, there are so many new gifts to find a place for, and you feel like there’s simply too much stuff. So you decide it’s finally time to get organized! You pick the space that’s bothering you most and pull everything out. You’re motivated and excited while you start sifting through things, but soon you end up with completely overwhelming piles spread all over. You don’t know what to do with it all, so you stuff it back where it came from. If this sounds like you, don’t worry! This happens to so many people especially this time of year. Here’s my tip to overcome the overwhelm:

Break Your Project Down ——— If you’re busy during the week, break your project down into two-hour periods on the weekend. Rather than pulling everything out in the entire space, work on one section at a time. For example, if you want to organize your kitchen, don’t expect to get everything done at once. Choose the fridge, one cabinet, or your pantry, and stay focused on that section until it’s done.

And if you’re still struggling, remember that I’m here whenever you need help. Happy organizing!
