Your peaceful bedroom awaits

Happy February! Valentine’s Day is usually associated with romance, but I like to think of it as a great time for self-care, too. This quote says it all . . . “The most important relationship in your life is the relationship you have with yourself.”

But you know how your bedroom becomes a place where you drop off piles of laundry, stacks of papers, and returns you need to take back to the store? That doesn’t feel very peaceful!

Let’s turn your bedroom into a serene space for you to decompress and care for yourself! The first step is this month’s tip:

Stop bringing extra things into the bedroom.

Leave them in a different space so you can come back to them later.

And don’t worry, you’re not the only one to struggle with this! In January, I decided to stop bringing my laptop into my bedroom because I would find myself working way too late. I made the effort to leave the laptop in another room so I could disconnect in the evening.

Once you get that habit in place, then you can begin decluttering and organizing the room itself. I suggest starting with something small, like your nightstand surface or drawer.
